BASF Colors & Effects – Dirty but Clean: Mica Sourcing

In the context of mica mining in India, media reports about corrupt dealers exploiting abandoned mines for illegal operations and subjecting children to dangerous working conditions are multiplying. The natural mica production of Colors & Effects in the USA ensures that products and production meet the highest safety standards.

The brief was to plan and execute a communication package that would create transparency around the ethical, traceable, and environmentally friendly process of mica sourcing by Colors & Effects in Hartwell, Georgia, USA.

We assembled a communication package that brings transparency to the supply chain and highlights the human factor of sustainability. To sharpen the communication of Colors & Effects and illustrate their social responsibility, we presented the mine, the employees at their actual workplace, and the individual work processes.

The result: Key visuals, a client presentation, video content, info sheets, a supply chain infographic, and a dedicated website – all aimed at making the claim "Dirty but Clean" tangible.
